Translation memory
Everything that once has been written or translated should not have to be written or translated again.
To support our customers, we have developed a translation memory, especially suitable for larger translations, which helps to assure major improvements in quality, including company-specific consistency in terminology; first and foremost this applies to technical documentation. This also achieves cost reductions. In order to do this, however it is necessary to have a clearly structured initial baseline, as well as precisely specified targets. The first step in this procedure would be, for example, to define a controlled source language (editorial regulations!) in order to achieve beneficial translation memory management.
With the support of a target and success orientated translation memory management, our customers can take advantage of the text and translation „ recycling “ with respect to their corporate company specific technical. Our experience shows that 30% of the text of an operation manual is repeated from one issue to the next. By using already existing translations, the consistency of corporate company specialist terminology (terminology management) is ensured.
